In March of 2017, Ritual invited a group of baristas to travel to Costa Rica, with the ultimate goal of being able to better tell the stories of our 2017 Costa Rican coffees. We work with the same dedicated group of farmers and producing families year after year, and for most of our staff this was the first time in a coffee producing region. They found an amazing amount of variance in production and methodology (and a lot of cute animals!) along the road, but the general consensus formed is that coffee is a process, and the more we know about the different steps in the supply chain, the more we can do to improve the process and support the livelihood of people in coffee growing communities.

There are good stories behind all of these great coffees, and every farm is surprisingly unique.
