We’ve been celebrating our coffee producers through Ritual’s Origin Week series for several years now, and the wonderful relationships we continue to nurture and grow never cease to amaze us. Nowhere is this more evident than in Honduras, where through our friendship with Benjamin Paz and his family’s mill, the Beneficio San Vicente, we’ve been able to connect with some incredibly special coffee growers in the nearby Santa Barbara mountains.
Simply put, the specialty coffees from this part of Honduras are some of the finest in the world, and grown in some of the most beautiful terroir. But you’ve got to go there to know there, and if this isn’t in the cards, we’re honored to bring you the next best thing- Honduras Week!
We served exclusively Honduran coffees from the Santa Barbara region, both in filter roast and espresso preparations. These are coffees from established relationships with superstar producers Sebastian Benitez, Nelson Ramirez, and Santos Alexis Dominguez, along with new friends like Evin Moreno, Armando Pineda, and Alexander Sabillon.
We hope you were able to try as many of these exceptional offerings as you could- the Piñona is on still on bar at all of our shops :)

Aromatics of jasmine, lilac, and violet stampede into flavors of sweet berries, blackcurrant, and cantaloupe. Dark chocolate notes keep it all grounded, stable, and surefooted. Both wonderfully heavy and light at the same time, a shot of Dark Horse rushes off as soon as arrived, leaving a clean, bewildering, almost tea-like finish.
So step right up folks, you won’t see this one coming!
Ritual baristas facilitate experiences that open peoples’ eyes to just how good coffee can be. They connect people to our coffee and to our producers through outstanding service and exacting beverage preparation. Our baristas get to work with dozens of fresh coffees throughout the year that are among the world’s best. They are expected to train continually to improve their skills. Baristas at Ritual are nice, work hard, and know how to have fun.
- Provide excellent customer service in an environment that requires hustle and hyper-awareness of surroundings
- Be striving to exceed Ritual’s standards for awesome coffee beverage preparation
- Be able to talk about all offerings including drinks, beans and brewing equipment
- Be proactive within the coffee bar team to anticipate needs, prevent problems, and maintain smooth operations
- Adhere to all common sense and written policies including but not limited to: cash handling, cafe operations, and scheduling
- Love of coffee
- Enthusiasm to learn
- Stellar communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to keep calm in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented approach to preparing coffee while maintaining ability to multi-task
- Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service position
- Ability to attend sessions at our training lab in SoMa
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 3 shifts a week
- Possession of a current Food Handler’s Card
